China’s road toll ban allows Golden Week revelers to travel for free, only they aren’t getting anywhere

China is on holiday this week to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. Around 740m people are expected to drive somewhere during the vacation. As a gift to all comrades, the government has suspended road tolls. The result has been massive traffic jams and car accidents. The toll amnesty has even been criticised in government-controlled newspaper China Daily – did the censors miss this one?
