The aftermath of Hurricane Michael, one of the strongest to ever hit the US

Hurricane Michael made landfall on Florida’s panhandle just shy of being a Category 5 storm. As it moves towards the Carolinas now as a tropical storm, it will be remembered as one of the most powerful hurricanes to ever hit the US mainland. Getting relief to affected areas will be a challenge.
The AP reports that the dozens of miles of the region’s main artery, Interstate 10, were closed due to a build up of debris. So far, there have been two reported deaths.
Photos of the storm’s aftermath show locals trying to dig out and make sense of the work to be done to rebuild after such an unforgiving storm.
