Chinese author Mo Yan awarded Nobel Prize in literature

Chinese author Mo Yan has been awarded the Nobel Prize in literature. He is best known for his novels that formed the basis of the film Red Sorghum. The Nobel committee lauded Yan’s work, saying he “with hallucinatory realism merges folk tales, history and the contemporary.”
