U.S. Shale Glut Means Gas Shortage for Mexican Industry

Mexico has begun cutting natural gas supplies to some of its largest customers by as much as 45 percent to cope with ballooning demand from households and steelmakers. The surge in Mexican demand is a reaction to rock-bottom prices for natural gas, which have plunged in tandem with the U.S. shale gas glut. The problem is, while the U.S. is awash in natural gas, Mexican supplies are limited.
