Is Japan really phasing out nuclear power?

Plans to complete a serious of nuclear power plants in Japan cast doubt on an announced plan to phase out such reactors by 2040. One of the world’s most industrialized nations, Japan would have to utterly transform how it powers its economy and the daily lives of its population were it to proceed fully with the plan, enacted in the wake of the 2011 Fukushima nuclear power accident.
