Disney is buying Lucasfilm, the maker of Star Wars, for $4 billion

“Mickey Mouse can now feel the Force. Disney is buying Lucasfilm for $4 billion, adding the legendary Star Wars franchise to the entertainment giant’s stable of characters.” It will be Disney’s fourth-biggest acquisition, coming just ahead of Marvel Comics, which it bought in 2009. With the latest Star Wars movie set for release in 2015, the question for fans will be whether Disney can rejuvenate the series.
