The editor-in-chief of the Gallup polling organization told Businessweek it identified a virtual tie between incumbent Barack Obama and his Republican opponent, Mitt Romney, in the final tracking poll released before tomorrow’s election. Among likely voters, the Romney leads the president by one percentage point, 49-48. This is the first poll to be released since Hurricane Sandy muted campaigning and put a spotlight on the president, and it showed significant movement toward Obama after previous polls gave Romney a five percentage point lead.
