Shell rejects Total's caution on Arctic oil drilling

France’s Total says the oil industry should not risk drilling in the Arctic for environmental reasons. Here, Shell responds with a resounding no. Shell has spent billions of dollars to get exploration under way offshore from Alaska, and says it intends to resume the effort next year.
