The FBI is investigating the death of a black man found hanging from a tree in Mississippi

Authorities are investigating the death of a black man after his body was found hanging from a tree in Clairborne County, Mississippi.

The case is being investigated by local law enforcement, the FBI, as well as the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, and the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Mississippi.

The body of the man, who went missing earlier this month, was found not far from his last place of residence.
