Europe in one chart: What countries really think of their neighbors

The latest episode in Europe’s ongoing financial crisis pits Greece, the delinquent debtor, against Germany, the fiscally responsible creditor.

That may be a wild generalization, but it conforms, at least, to stereotypes within Europe: Germans are considered by each of the countries polled in a Pew study to be the most trustworthy and hardest working on the continent. Each country, that is, except Greece. Greeks consider themselves to be the most trustworthy and hardest working.
