Watch: this drone is almost impossible to crash

A Swiss company called Flyability has developed a drone that is nearly impossible to crash. Its unique spherical cage design was inspired by the ability of some insects to carry on flying even after bumping into obstacles.

The drone is about 15 inches in diameter and easy to pilot, Flyability says. It is being developed for use in industrial inspections as well as search-and-rescue missions, where it may be particularly helpful in cramped, dark places like caves or crevasses.
