In pictures: the Brussels terror attack

Brussels, the capital of Belgium and headquarters of the European Union, was hit by three coordinated terrorist bombings this morning (March 22). Suicide bombers struck the airport and a metro station close to EU buildings during the morning rush hour. By mid-morning, 26 people had been declared dead and the number of wounded had climbed to 136.
