In the video above, Damira Inatullaeva, an Uzbek cooking instructor with NYC-based League of Kitchens, shows us how to make barak, the country’s most beloved dumpling.

It likely made its way to Uzbekistan hundreds of years ago along the ancient silk road from China by way of traders on their way to Europe.
