Watch: Singing tributes to Prince by performers around the world

The outpouring of reaction to Prince’s death this week now includes a number of remarkable musical tributes by performers around the world, many captured by amateur videographers.

Here’s “Let’s Go Crazy” by the cast of the Broadway musical Hamilton:

Jennifer Hudson and the cast of Broadway musical The Color Purple covered “Purple Rain”:

Singers from the PS22 elementary school chorus in Staten Island, NY, sang “When Doves Cry”:

Rihanna’s tribute to Prince was a rendition of her song “Diamonds in the Sky” during a concert in Calgary:

American Idol winner Fantasia also performed “Purple Rain”:

As did the Harlem Gospel Choir:

And this amateur video of “Kiss” in a train predates Prince’s death, but has been circulating as a tribute. A seemingly random passenger’s singing beginning around 2:08 makes the performance.
