Europeans want their old currencies back, especially the Italians and the Spaniards

Confidence in the euro is slipping: a startling number of Europeans are saying they would prefer to return to their old currencies. Italians and Spaniards yearn the most for the lira and peseta, which you might conclude is a tad ungrateful given how kind the markets have been to these countries lately. Funny enough, it’s the Greeks—the Europeans most likely to see the return of the drachma—who are least keen on having it back.
