After closing for a two-year renovation, the New York Public Library’s historic Rose Main Reading Room reopened in early October.

The library has undergone several changes, including the addition of a new “book train” system, to quickly retrieve books from faraway stacks, and a new system of organizing books by size.

Prior to reopening, the library captured time lapse footage of the Rose Main Reading Room being reshelved, which you can watch in the video above.
