By Simone Foxman
Published

The two European countries worst hit by the region’s economic crisis—Greece and Portugal—both reported their latest unemployment data today.

Warning: It’s just awful.

Greek unemployment rose from 26.7% to 27.0% in February. Portuguese unemployment shot up to 17.7% from 16.9% in the first quarter.

It’s even worse for the young people. 64.2% of young Greeks between the age of 15 and 24 are unemployed. In Portugal, 42.1% of young people were out of work.
