The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the nominees for the 2017 Golden Globes this morning, shining a spotlight on some of the best television and films of the year.

The HFPA is always a wacky bunch, known for its specific set of tastes that sometimes run contrary to the critical consensus, but 2016 was such a satisfying year in entertainment that even it could not do much wrong.

The critically acclaimed musical La La Land led all films with seven nominations, including best picture (musical or comedy) and acting nominations for its two leads, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. According to awards prediction site Gold Derby, La La Land is the prohibitive favorite to win the Oscar for best picture. (Those nominations will be announced in January.)

Other Oscar contenders, like Manchester by the Sea and Moonlight, each received multiple Globes nominations—as did Arrival, the beautiful and haunting sci-fi film starring Amy Adams as a linguist who attempts to communicate with aliens.

In TV land, HBO once again dominated, retaking the throne from Netflix as the network with the most nominations (14). The premiere cable channel was helped by the emergence of its hit new series Westworld, which received three nominations. FX, always a strong awards contender, finished second with nine. Beloved newcomers like FX’s Atlanta and Netflix’s Stranger Things joined the usual suspects of Game of ThronesVeep, and Transparent.

Jimmy Fallon will host the awards on Sunday, Jan. 8 on NBC. Here is the full list of nominees:
