Watch the beautiful, hidden world captured by microscopic photography

A starfish larva measuring just one millimeter long hunts for food. A faucet snail takes its first steps. These and other mesmerizing images are among those featured at the Small World In Motion Competition, essentially a film festival for anything that can be shot through a microscope. The contest is six years old, and has separate competitions for stills and videos. Check out the video above to see some of this year’s winners and finalists.
