MIT researchers designed a shape-shifting pasta that will transform in water

MIT researchers designed a a shape-shifting pasta that looks like a flat sheet when it’s dry but will transform into an array of interesting shapes when placed in water.  They say this flat-packed pasta is cheaper to package and ship.

To make the pasta fold itself into different forms, scientists used a combination of gelatin and cellulose. Watch the video about to see how they created a new technology using standard kitchen ingredients.
