Gas prices are averaging above $4 a gallon nationwide, but there are major price discrepancies between states

Gas prices have jumped more than a dollar since the start of the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran, averaging $4 a gallon and causing pain at the pump across the country. And if you’re buying diesel, it’s even worse, at $5.45 a gallon as of Tuesday.

And while all fifty states are seeing prices spike, some states are paying significantly more than others.

Using data from AAA, we’ve compiled a list of the five states where gas is most expensive right now — and the five where it’s the cheapest. Continue reading to see which made the list.
