The best gas grills for summer 2026, according to Consumer Reports

Summer is almost here. And if you’re in the market for a new grill, Consumer Reports has some recommendations.

We’ve compiled a list of their five favorite mid-sized gas grills. Continue reading to see which made the list and why.

A solid mid-range pick and a CR Smart Buy, the Napoleon Rogue PRO 425 SIB tied for the highest overall score with perfect marks for temperature range and indirect cooking, and owners report good satisfaction. Reliability is strong, too.

The Saber Select R52SC0421 also tied for first for gas grills, with great scores across the board and a particularly high score for convenience. But owner satisfaction was more mixed, with only about half of customers reporting being satisfied with their purchase.

The cheapest option on the list, Nexgrill 720-1046 performs impressively in Consumer Reports’ testing, with perfect scores for evenness, preheat, temperature range, and indirect cooking. But owner satisfaction was low and it’s not the most reliable model, meaning it might not be the best long-term pick.

Weber’s Genesis II E-335Scores 75 had solid overall scores for cooking and convenience, and notably is a customer favorite, with more than nine in ten customers satisfied with the grill. It's also a reliable model that should last you a while, Consumer Reports said.

The fanciest option on the list, the Weber Summit E-470 is expensive, but owners love it. It’s the only fully stainless steel model in this group, if that’s important to you. It does preheat a bit slower than the competition, but it has some nice bonuses, like extra burners and a rotisserie function.
