The 2026 BMW X5 is a luxury mid-sized SUV with a base price ranging from $67,600 to $129,700. It’s recommended by Consumer Reports and delivers 23 mpg overall.
"With each new generation, the X5 has become more refined and comfortable, but less of a crisp-handling SUV. We think this redesign optimally balances comfort, agility, power delivery, and interior quality," CR said.

2026 BMW X7

Starting at $86,700, the 2026 BMW X7 is a three-row luxury SUV recommended by CR. It offers 22 mpg overall and is priced up to $156,000.

With a base price of $73,800, the BMW X5 Plug-in Hybrid adds electric capability to the luxury midsize SUV formula. It’s CR recommended and offers an EPA-estimated 39 miles of electric range, along with 21 mpg overall.

The Lexus TX Hybrid starts at $55,640 and tops out at $79,510, making it one of the more affordable three-row luxury SUVs on this list. It achieves 24 mpg overall and gets the CR stamp of approval.
“This new Lexus benefits from a boxy shape and added length over the latest RX, enabling spacious accommodations for all three rows, along with tremendous cargo-toting abilities when the third row is folded down,” CR said.

2026 Porsche Cayenne

Priced from $88,800 to $210,600, the Porsche Cayenne delivers 21 mpg overall and is CR recommended, despite sitting at the higher end of the price spectrum for this category.
“The Cayenne lives up to its Porsche pedigree with sharp handling, quick acceleration, and a beautifully finished interior,” CR said. “But this SUV’s demeanor may be too intense for drivers who care most about comfort.”
