Easter candy prices have reached all-time highs — and so will spending.
The National Retail Federation (NRF) said Tuesday it expects Easter spending to reach $24.9 billion this year, surpassing 2023’s record by $900 million. On a per-person basis, the NRF said people celebrating will spend almost $200 each.

“While economic uncertainty remains on the minds of many, consumers are still focused on holiday celebrations like Easter,” NRF chief economist Mark Mathews said.
The 2026 prediction is up $8.5 billion from 2015, according to NRF data.
Candy remains the thing most people plan to buy — and it makes sense that people are spending more.
A new analysis from InvestorsObserver found that prices of Easter basket candy have jumped a whopping 67% since 2020.
NRF said the majority of people celebrating also plan to cook a holiday meal and visit friends and family, while 43% of people will attend church, and 36% are planning an Easter egg hunt.
Among spending estimates, NRF projects $7.5 billion on food, $3.9 billion on gifts, $3.7 billion on clothing, $3.5 billion on candy, and $2.2 billion on flowers.
