February generally isn't a time when people give a lot of thought to advent calendars. But The Home Depot $HD is hoping to change that.
Starting Wednesday, the home improvement store will offer a batch of spring-themed advent calendars online for $49. The calendars come with a kit that includes 20 assorted garden must-haves, grilling gear, cleaning tools and outdoor upgrades. The total retail value of the calendar, Home Depot says, is $250.

"After a long, cold winter, people are ready to get outside and get their hands dirty again,” said Rodes Bazzel, senior vice president of merchandising, hardlines at The Home Depot. “Spring deserves to be celebrated, and that starts with inspiring customers early and helping them plan the projects they look forward to most — whether that’s planting the perfect garden, furnishing the back deck for outdoor hosting, or giving the entire house a deep clean.”
The curated products are meant to be opened one per day, starting March 1 (though true enthusiasts, eager to shake the recent snow from their mind, might dive in a bit early). Each day's gift will also have a QR code on the back of the door that will link to how-to guides and project inspiration imagery.
Speed will be of the essence if you want to get your hands on one of the calendars, though. A drop last week sold out in under 12 hours — and The Home Depot says this is the final time it will offer the 2026 advent calendar.
An advent calendar in spring might sound weird, but for home improvement stores, the end of winter marks the start of one of their busiest times of the year as shoppers look for excuses to go outside after hunkering down during what's so far been a brutal winter.
