Hyundai Motor America is recalling 294,128 vehicles in the U.S. after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced that seat belt anchors might come loose.
The recall covers four models: the Hyundai Ioniq 6, Genesis G90, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid. The affected vehicles span model years 2023 through 2026, according to WRAL.

If an anchor detaches, it could leave an occupant without adequate restraint during a collision, raising the likelihood of injury, the NHTSA warned. At no cost to vehicle owners, dealerships will examine the seat belt anchors and either strengthen or replace them, as needed.
Notification letters are scheduled to go out to owners in June. For questions, Hyundai's customer service line is available at 855-371-9460. Callers should have the last four digits of their VIN on hand before dialing.
A separate Hyundai action last month halted sales of the 2026 Palisade Limited and Calligraphy trims following the death of a child; the company cited concerns that power seats in the second and third rows could fail to sense the presence of passengers or objects.
