The 5 most romantic U.S. states — and the 5 least

Discover which U.S. states are most in love and which barely search for romance, according to a new study

Romance leaves a paper trail. Or at least a browser history. People search for how to propose, what to write in a love letter, and when to book an anniversary trip. Enough of those searches, repeated often enough, turn affection into data.

Health and wellness website Innerbody used that signal to measure how actively people across all 50 states plan, research, and rehearse romance — not what they say about love, but what they do when they open a search bar.

Turns out, love is a very searchable sport. Some states treat it like a full-time project, with citizens clicking, scrolling, and Googling their way to a perfect proposal. Others act as if romance is on airplane mode, barely leaving a trace. The ranking captures that rhythm — a peek at where hearts are most active, and where they prefer to stay quiet.

Here are the five most romantic states and the five least, according to the data.
