Everyday, over 5.4 billion people around the world use the internet — or about 67% of the global population. Most of those visits, according to SimilarWeb data, are spent on search engines and social media platforms.

As of July, Google made up the largest share of the web traffic market, with 84.3 billion monthly visits — or 18.34% of traffic share.

Social media platform Reddit had 3.56 billion monthly visits in July, making up 0.77% of global web traffic share.

Web portal Yahoo had 3.61 billion monthly visits in July, making up 0.79% of global web traffic share.

The free online encyclopedia Wikipedia had 3.94 billion monthly visits in July, making up 0.86% of global web traffic share.

Messaging platform WhatsApp had 4.62 billion monthly visits in July, making up 1.01% of global web traffic share.

Elon Musk-owned social media platform X had 4.82 billion monthly visits in July, making up 1.05% of global web traffic share.

Photo-sharing social media platform Instagram had almost 6 billion monthly visits in July, making up 1.3% of global web traffic share.

Social media platform Facebook had 12.9 billion monthly visits in July, making up 2.81% of global web traffic share.

Video-sharing platform YouTube had 30.3 billion monthly visits in July, making up 6.59% of global web traffic share.
