Super Bowl ticket prices are spiking as the Seahawks and Patriots prepare for kickoff

Tickets start at just under $6,100 and go as high as $24,000 for this year's Big Game. That's higher than last year

Hoping to see Super Bowl LX in person? You're going to need to dip into that savings account – and you're going to need to dip deep.

The "get-in" price to the matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots currently stands at just under $6,100. That's the cheapest ticket in the nosebleed seats – and it's about $1,000 more than last year's game, according to StubHub.

Prices vary from resale hub to resale hub, of course. But you're not going to find a bargain, no matter where you look.

Ticketmaster, for instance, showed prices ranging from $6,500 to $22,889 as of Thursday morning. StubHub had a range of $6,291 to $57,063. And TickPick ran from $6,087 to $23,950.

Prices will fluctuate as the Super Bowl gets closer. But when compared to previous games, this year is one of the most expensive on record. According to TickPick data, only the 2024 Super Bowl had a higher average price at this point.

The average price with 11 days remaining before the game was $8,044 this year. Two years ago, when the San Francisco 49ers were defeated by the Kansas City Chiefs, they were going for $9,561 11 days out.

Typically, people who hold off until closer to the game find better deals, sometimes paying roughly half as much as people who buy second-hand tickets a week or two before kickoff. Of course, by taking that risk, you won't have the same seating options and may have to take whatever you can get. (And you won't get to see the commercials.)

“The Super Bowl ticket market can change very quickly, but so far Super Bowl LX is following the same trajectory as we typically see in the first week with regards to order volume," says TickPick Co-CEO Brett Goldberg. "There was a big spike in orders on Championship Sunday, and the market is now settling in as fans enter ‘wait-and-see’ mode."

The Seahawks and Patriots will kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, Feb. 8. The game is being played at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., so that could actually cause a boost in last-minute ticket prices as cash-rich tech workers in the Bay Area decide to go.
