CARLSBAD, Calif. (AP) — CARLSBAD, Calif. (AP) — ViaSat Inc. (VSAT) on Wednesday reported a loss of $767.2 million in its fiscal second quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Carlsbad, California-based company said it had a loss of $6.16.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 48 cents per share.

The provider of satellite and wireless networking technology posted revenue of $1.23 billion in the period, which topped Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.06 billion.
